1. Go to the BEACH.  Just looking at the ocean can bring a sense of calm.  The smell of the sea, waves crashing and the amazing sea breeze, lessens the stress and allows you to forget the world around you.  The sound of the waves crashing can put you in a calmer and meditative state.  The minerals in the ocean’s water helps to relieve pain associated with arthritis, psoriasis and even depression.  So grab that book and enjoy a day at the beach.

2. Projects.  I can’t tell you the sense of accomplishment when I clean out my closet or reorganize my kitchen cabinets.  One of my favorite project’s to do is working in my garden. The feel of the earth in my hands planting my own organic food watching it grow brings a joy to my heart.  It can be very meditative and calming as you tend to put your energy into something good.  It can help you forget you troubles for at least that day.

3. Cooking. I love to cook. The process of choosing a recipe, going to the market, purchasing all the ingredients, wine, even music can be fun. I usually try a theme and combine it all together. Greek, Italian and Indian are my usual favorites I have even dabbled in Thai. Invite your friends and wow them with your culinary skills. It is amazing how cooking can take you and your mind to a far away place.
