May 2011

Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach, South Florida’s ultra-luxury retreat, announces its Summer Family Escape package, an exciting destination offer for family fun and a thrilling beachfront escape in beautiful Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. The Five Diamond Award-winning Acqualina Resort and the recipient of the 2010 Fodor’s Choice Gold Award as one of the Best Hotels for Kids and Families offers its Summer Family Escape package from May 31, 2011 through September 29, 2011.

The Summer Family Escape package offers guests complimentary spa access, a $40 spa treatment credit daily for up to two adults, daily Continental Breakfast for two, and complimentary valet parking daily. The nightly rates drop as the nights of the guest’s reservation increase. 1-2 night stays start at $375 with 3-4 night stays from $350 and 5 nights or longer from $325.

In addition to the Summer Family Escape Package, Acqualina also features the award-winning AcquaMarine Children’s Program Summer Camp, an unparalleled marine biology-based program designed for children ages 5 to 12 years old. The AcquaMarine Summer Camp focuses on ocean oriented education activities creating a fun and engaging way to keep kids learning and laughing all day long. Acqualina further enhances its position as a family destination resort by making its children's marine biology inspired program available to hotel guests on a complimentary basis daily Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Summer hours will vary.

Continuing their partnership with the General Mills’ Box Tops for Education program, Acqualina has pledged to work with hotel guests, residents and the local Miami community to collect, organize and submit box tops found on General Mills products in an effort to help raise funding for school supplies and enhancement programs for the children at Hibiscus Elementary in Miami’s Dade County. The resort will also host an on-site treasure chest for children to trade in their box tops for toys. The General Mills’ Box Tops for Education program, launching June 1, 2011, encourages hotel guests, employees and local residents to clip box tops from some of their favorite General Mills products including Betty Crocker, Nature Valley, Welch’s, Pillsbury Kleenex, Huggies and Ziploc.

Acqualina announced its partnership with Box Tops for Education at the 15th annual “I Have a Dream” Gala in 2010 which raised over $550,000 for children’s programs in Miami and joined a passionate community that has come together to help create change in Miami public schools. With the adoption of Hibiscus Elementary, which includes 600 students from pre-Kindergarten through the fifth grade, Acqualina reaffirms its dedication to childhood education and became the first resort in the United States to raise funds for a local school through the General Mills’ Box Tops for Education program.
