With see-and-be-seen fine dining destinations, vibrant nightlife opportunities, and luxe poolside havens, there are endless reasons to look and feel your best during a Miami getaway. And lucky for guests at Acqualina Resort & Spa, chic new styles to elevate your vacation wardrobe are never far away. Welcome to the Acqualina Boutique, located within the five-star Acqualina Spa by ESPA.
“It’s a unique shopping experience because it’s located at our spa, so the instant environment is very inviting and relaxing,” shares Jacqueline Shiff, the boutique’s fashion consultant. Think of it as massage therapy meets retail therapy — amid the spa’s serene setting, guests enjoy an immersive, intimate, and fun visit, making the excitement of finding a treasured new wardrobe item that much sweeter.
As the resident style expert, Shiff specializes in crafting looks from the boutique’s curated collection, not simply pointing in the direction of a popular piece that can be found anywhere.
“The boutique is a step ahead,” says Shiff. “We choose items selectively to create the full look. We all know we can find designers easily online, but at the boutique, the looks are put together for the individual. That’s the difference — our staff wouldn’t recommend the wrong color or fit for any client.”
Guided by trusted fashion advice from Shiff and other stylish team members, guests can peruse trend-setting clothing, beachwear, and accessories by some of the world’s premier designers. There’s refined lingerie and sleepwear by Italian brand ID Sarrieri, buttery soft tees and loungewear by Lauren Moshi, island-inspired staples straight from Ibiza by Charo Ruiz (coming soon), and more.
As for Shiff’s go-to brands? “I can’t say my favorite, but I am exceptionally excited for the Johnny Was collection to arrive. It’s their first season offering swimwear and they are keeping it exclusive,” she shares. The brand is also known for their signature hand-stitched, luxury boho styles.
“I am also a true fan of anything coordinated,” she adds. “Vilebrequin has the most sensational collection for the entire family.” With colorfully patterned swimwear for every generation, it’s perfect for a cherished family photograph on the glistening shores of Sunny Isles Beach. This being South Florida, of course, there’s a wide variety of other swimwear to peruse in the boutique, including finds from Alexandra Miro, Karla Colletto, Sunuva, and more. Shiff also loves the swimwear collection by Frescobol Carioca. “The men’s shorts are the sharpest fit and he is the trendiest designer for men right now,” she says.
While there’s so much to be discovered among the beautifully displayed, delicately organized pieces in the boutique, for those looking for a more exclusive day of shopping, Shiff can come to you. “Some clients like to have the personal experience of meeting in private at their home or hotel suite, especially our VIP guests,” she shares.
No matter the setting, it’s about bringing the joy of style to each and every guest. “My last customer came in and purchased enough items for her holiday for herself and her family,” says Shiff. “She told me, ‘I wasn’t intending in indulging like this, but I had to because I prefer all of these looks to what I packed.’ It’s so wonderful to see people enjoy their new looks.”
Whether you’re in need of the essentials (such as kids’ goggles, sunscreen, swimwear, and Acqualina baseball caps) or a new Miami-inspired ensemble, Acqualina Boutique offers the sartorial statement you’re searching for. For an extra dose of inspiration, you can’t go wrong with one of Shiff’s favorite fall 2019 trends: “Big straw hats and, of course, matching bags. I love a little glamour!”
