From tablecloths to napkins and napkin rings, designer Nomi Rubinstein creates distinctive looks for stylish settings.

Glamorous table settings combined with intimate surroundings, ocean views and stellar service make memorable gatherings in Acqualina’s elegant Boardroom. Realizing the cozy, hidden gem was destined for much more than mere meetings, the resort often transforms the room into an elegant haven for intimate dinner fetes for up to 15 guests.
To complete the metamorphosis, Acqualina engaged designer Nomi Rubinstein – the founder of By Nomi and an expert in the art of elegant tablescapes – to design one-of-a-kind linens exclusively for the Boardroom.
Inspired by what Rubinstein describes as the Boardroom’s “streamlined, minimalistic elegance” and the resort’s oceanfront setting, the designer created multiple looks from which clients can choose, using durable, yet soft fabrics. Both tablecloths and their complementing napkins are rooted in gold tones, with one emphasizing an oversized flower pattern set against an ivory shade, while the other has a distinctive shimmery wave and is ideal for longer tables.
“I knew the look had to have nothing less than showstopping elegance – a wow factor,” says Rubinstein. “To create one look, I chose a crisp white fabric with a beautiful, almost iridescent wave pattern, whose texture mimics the foam that gently floats above the ocean waves; it’s the perfect complement to Acqualina’s beachfront location,” says the designer. To complete the look, Rubinstein designed double-sided napkins in the same lustrous off-white and gold fabric and created napkin rings to maximize the dazzling effect.
The designer draws her inspiration from nature – florals in and around Acqualina for this project – and says, “the serene, early morning waves on the beach have inspired me to find a pattern that imitates their gentle, flowing shapes.” Rubinstein’s custom tablescapes were designed exclusively for Acqualina’s Boardroom and are manufactured in Miami, Florida.
“My vision was to create nothing short of a masterpiece that will not only enhance Acqualina’s boardroom, but elevate its elegant, Italian villa-like ambiance,” says Rubinstein. “It brings me great joy to know their clients will enjoy these tablecloths and accessories for their beautiful occasions and I’m so honored and excited to be part of it.”
