We are delighted to introduce Lisa Iaquez as Acqualina Resort’s new Regional Director of Sales overseeing the North American leisure market. Join us as we delve into a captivating Q&A with Lisa, where she shares insights into her background and passions.
1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and where you are from?
I hail from a family of developers who owned various hospitality businesses including a hotel and travel agency on the Italian island of Sicily. Most of my life and career has been in NYC where I have worked on property and in corporate offices of luxury and lifestyle hotel companies such as Baccarat Hotel, 1 Hotel Central Park, Taj Resorts and Palaces, Jumeirah Hotel Group. I also worked on the client side in events at a NYC hedge fund consulting firm, Merrill Lynch, and Estee Lauder. Besides Sicily, NY and now Miami, I have lived in India, Turkey, and Puerto Rico.
2. What attracted you to the position of Regional Director of Sales at Acqualina Resort?
Acqualina is the epitome of classic luxury hospitality with a team of professionals that complement it. It is truly an oasis in the Miami area that boasts the highest caliber of service and experiences and naturally I felt at home with my personal and professional background.
3. What do you enjoy most about working in the sales field?
I am equally a businessperson and hospitality enthusiast and my career in hotel sales allows me to combine both interests. I thrive on experiencing growth and success and being a part of offering people an experience of their lifetime.
4. What is your favorite food?
Anything Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Indian/Himalayan.
5. What are some of your favorite hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?
I enjoy reading, being active in the outdoors, yoga and meditation on the beach, enjoy dining out and spending time with loved ones.
6. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
The Kingdom of Bhutan- it’s been named the happiest country in the world, it’s an unadulterated spiritual oasis, and it looks like you’re in heaven on earth.
