Cool For the Summer

By Angela Caraway-Carlton

Staying cool is easy at Acqualina Resort, where there’s no shortage of pools and all of them flaunt dreamy ocean breezes.

Couples flock to the palm-fringed Adults-Only Pool which is a haven of relaxation for those 18 years old and over. Settle into a comfy chaise lounger under an umbrella, curl up with a book on a custom day bed, or retreat to one of the expansive cabanas fitted with flatscreen TVs, refrigerators and other lavish amenities like a complimentary fruit bowl. Pool butlers float around the pool to deliver frozen treats or cool towels and guests can order from a curated menu.

Families gravitate to the Beach Club Pool, tucked away at the far South side of the resort and conveniently located next to Costa Grill. Beloved for its zero-entry swimming pool that’s perfect for the littles, this is where special moments are created. Spend a carefree afternoon floating in the shimmering waters, playing with the kids, and digging into food that will please even the pickiest of eaters. Those who desire frequent shelter from the sun, and a private place for midday naps and family time, can rent a private cabana for the day.

More energy to burn? Head to the Recreational Pool, which is front and center between the Great Lawn and Costa Grill. Like its name implies, this pool is all about fun and games, with aqua fitness classes in the water and other games and activities led by the resort staff. Of course, there are private cabanas and food/beverage service there too.

Those who’ve booked a pampering day at the Five-Star Acqualina Spa also have access to a private outdoor pool with prime views of the ocean. Soak up the sounds of the swaying palm trees from a lounger and take frequent dips in the bubbling Jacuzzi. If you have any leftover stress, the Jacuzzi’s heated jets and powerful waterfall will release it.
