Every year, summer heralds a cherished tradition for families to bask in the sun, stroll in the sand and reconnect with friends and each other. Acqualina Resort CEO and Partner Deborah Yager Fleming says it’s become her tradition to greet families that return to the luxury, oceanfront to fold new memory-making experiences into their annual vacations. “With team members who create activities every hour, it’s almost like a great country club where you can meet people and make friends,” she says. “Now we’re 16 years old, we see these families that come year after year,” with kids who were toddlers now playing life-sized chess with their parents and grandparents. Beachside games run the gamut from low-key ping pong or cornhole on the beach to high-energy oceanfront beach-adjacent basketball and soccer on the Great Lawn. Kids who don’t yet know how to swim can learn in a safe, professional setting with Oscar and his team from Miami Fitness, and the entire family can sign-up for scuba lessons with Squalo Divers, a PADI Five Star Dive operation. The Acqualina team also organizes outdoor games, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, kite flying, beach activities and water relay races in one of two family-friendly pools.
