About Hotel Santa Caterina and Chef Giuseppe Stanzione

Owned and managed by the Gambardella family for more than four generations, Hotel Santa Caterina opened in 1904 as a humble guest house and has since transformed into one of the Amalfi Coast’s oldest grand hotels. The property is immersed in green, lush grounds, where guests can explore and discover a variety of trees and shrubs typical of the Mediterranean.

Born in Salerno, Italy, Chef Giuseppe Stanzione is the Executive Chef of Al Mare and Glicine restaurants, the latter awarded a Michelin star by the 2020 Michelin Guide. His cuisine embodies local recipes and Mediterranean flavors creating balanced, elegant and innovative dishes. Prior to Hotel Santa Caterina, Chef Stanzione worked extensively throughout Italy and abroad in California, Australia, China and Thailand. After returning to Italy, he expanded his experience working in the kitchens of Convivio Troiani in Rome and Restaurant Arquade in San Pietro in Cariano. In 2011, he became the head of the kitchen at Le Trabe Restaurant in Capaccio-Paestum, where he received his first Michelin star.

About Borgo Egnazia and Chef Domingo Schingaro

Borgo Egnazia is located in Savelletri di Fasano, in Puglia, where the hills of the Itria Valley gently fall away to the blue Adriatic Sea. Nestled amongst millennial-old olive trees, this multi-award-winning property is inspired by the shapes, materials and colors of a typical Puglian village. All year round, through every season, Borgo Egnazia embodies a different concept of hospitality and well-being based on local, authentic experiences in the incomparable beauty of the Puglian countryside.

Chef Domenico Schingaro, better known as Domingo, was born in Bari in 1980. He joined Borgo Egnazia as Executive Chef in 2016 and oversees the gourmet restaurant Due Camini. After obtaining his hospitality training in Italy, Chef Schingaro worked and traveled extensively throughout Europe in such places as the Grosvenor House Le Meridien in London. After, he returned to Italy and became part of the kitchen team of the historical “Antico Buoi Rossi” restaurant in Alessandria. In 2014, he worked with Andrea Ribaldone and co-managed the new edition of the restaurant, now called I Due Buoi, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2015. In the same year, Chef Schingaro became Resident Chef alongside Andrea Ribaldone at Milan Expo’s Identità Expo San Pellegrino restaurant in collaboration with Magenta Bureau.
