MIAMI’S ACQUALINA RESORT ACHIEVES HEALTH SECURITY VERIFICATION FROM SHARECARE AND FORBES TRAVEL GUIDE
Acqualina is one of only three Five-Star hotels in the world with accreditations from Sharecare and Forbes Travel
Guide and the Global Biorisk Advisory Council
MIAMI, January 25, 2021 – Acqualina Resort & Residences, located in Miami’s Sunny Isles Beach, is
proud to announce that it is among the first hotels in the world to become Sharecare Health
Security VERIFIED™ with Forbes Travel Guide. The comprehensive facility verification helps
ensure that guests and travel planners can book with confidence at Acqualina based on the hotel’s
compliance with expert-validated best practices that minimize the risk and impact of COVID-19 and
potential future public health events. This verification comes on the heels of Acqualina achieving the
global sanitation accreditation by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council as a confirmed GBAC Star
accredited facility in December 2020. This makes Acqualina Resort the only Five-Star hotel in
Florida and the Caribbean and one of three Five-Star hotels in the world to receive both
 accreditations.
“The GBAC certification and guidance assisted us in building strict processes regarding health
security, and Sharecare and Forbes Travel Guide verified that our practices and protocols were
implemented successfully,” said Deborah Yager Fleming, CEO & Partner. “Attaining the highest
seals of approval in outbreak prevention reinforces our commitment to providing great living and
lifestyle experiences with the most rigorous health and safety standards in place.”
Developed by Forbes Travel Guide, the global authority on genuine Five-Star service, and digital
health industry leader Sharecare, the comprehensive verification covers more than 360 standards
across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical
distancing, the guest experience, and health safety communication with guests and employees.
Hotels are required to verify their health protocols on an ongoing basis to ensure continued
compliance with the most up-to-date global health standards.
“The pandemic has made it clear hotels and resorts must, first and foremost, assure guests of their
safety,” said Filip Boyen, CEO of Forbes Travel Guide. “By becoming VERIFIED™, Acqualina
Resort & Residences, a Forbes Five Star property, has demonstrated its commitment to creating a
culture of accountability and following global best practices to heighten health security, certified by a
 third party.”
“By scaling our dynamic solution to help align on a common, comprehensive approach to health
safety, we are making significant progress in ensuring consistent protocols and an established system
of health security among hotels,” said Hermann Elger, executive vice president and general manager
travel, entertainment and health security at Sharecare. “With the tool’s effectiveness for hotels,
resorts, and travel groups, we are able to build a culture of accountability and transparency that will
 bring us forward in recovery.”
The ultra-luxury resort’s extensive safety measures include the use of innovation sanitation
technology in all interior and exterior areas including electrostatic disinfectant tools that combine
EPA-approved chemicals with electrostatic molecules to sanitize all spaces ensuring that every area
of the property has been effectively and regularly cleaned to the highest standard. This is in addition
to the resort’s superior level of cleaning and hygienic protocols in place already as well as frequent
hand washing, use of gloves and face masks.
